Featured in this necklace is an artist-made lampwork focal bead. It's tube-shaped, with a gorgeous pattern of swirling colors in turquoise, greens, ochre and tan, reminiscent perhaps, of the swirls on Jupiter. It's centered on a strand of small green turquoise stone and sterling silver beads. The necklace is slender, measuring 18 1/4" long, closing with a sterling silver clasp. The lampwork tube is 1 3/4" long, by 3/8". Beautiful as a man's or woman's necklace!

Turquoise has been a sacred stone in many cultures. The Native Americans believed it helped connect the mind to the Universe, and used it in rainmaking ceremonies, and to protect the wearer from danger. Every shaman used a turquoise stone.
